Love Can Fly - Staying connected in isolation
In late April, Ryan kicked off a worldwide campaign to honor essential workers across the globe by sharing his creation, “Love Can Fly” in partnership with Founders Give, an initiative that formed in response to COVID-19 to feed healthcare workers in hospitals in New York City. In a ten week span, Founders Give partnered with over 300 food and beverage companies to deliver better-for-you beverages and grab-and-go snacks ($18M retail value) for over 100,000 docs, nurses and staff. To support their work, Ryan offered the original piece of art and a line of merchandise featuring Love Can Fly, for purchase via his website, with a portion of the sales going directly to Founders Give.
“This is my way of making a difference: spreading hope and providing an opportunity to acknowledge those who are out there, every day, literally risking their lives to save others, to keep us fed, deliver our goods, and keep our communities running.” RC
As we entered into the new reality of stay-at-home orders, Ryan installed the original piece of art on Main Street in New Paltz, NY to share with his community as a symbol of love because after all, love is ultimately the greatest human connector. The illuminated, winged heart was a call for love during very difficult days.
Additionally, with the support of Hudson Valley law firm, O'Connor & Partners, PLLC they were able to give 1500 #lovecanfly pins to the frontline workers in our local hospitals and testing sites.
